Group Description

In grief, our emotions can feel so disorganized and overwhelming; it leaves us uncertain about where to start. In this group, we created a safe environment to construct your grieving path. We use intentional interventions to help you move through your loss and begin to heal. We meet weekly for 90 minute sessions to learn a specific grief intervention and hold space for processing. While we recognize and validate all forms of grief, this group is reserved for physical loss and does not include loss of a pet or relationship at this time.

Key objectives of the group:

  • Learn about grief including the difference between grief and grieving, stages of grief and the effects of grief in everyday life.
  • Understand and process the effects of grief on personal identity.
  • Gain understanding on how to navigate expected and unexpected reminders of grief including holidays and anniversaries.
  • Gain connection and understanding from other group members through sharing the story of your loss.
  • Learn how to create rituals and integrate your loved one into your life today.

This group is facilitated by therapists Emily Adams, LAC and Cayla Gensler, LPC.

Why Groups Work

Perhaps you think the idea of joining a group sounds a bit intimidating. The truth is: IT IS! But we think we do some of our best work when we might feel a tad uncomfortable. We offer classes in a variety of different areas:

For those who are trying to learn more about themselves, go deeper, and enhance their toolkit on life.

For those who want to take their relationship from a 4 or a 5 to a 10.

Classes for as young as 2-5 all the way up to high school.

Classes focused around anxiety, depression, trauma, mood, OCD, and more.
