Sarah Powell is a Licensed Master of Social Work who earned her master's degree from ASU. Sarah's experience includes five years of inpatient mental health in addition to two years of crisis counseling in an emergency room setting. Now, she is continuing her clinical journey by providing individual outpatient therapy at Thrive. Sarah specializes in mood and anxiety disorders as well as interpersonal problems and coping skills. She tailors the therapeutic experience to each client using modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Sarah incorporates strengths-based, trauma-informed perspectives to provide a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where clients can learn, process, grow, and change their lives for the better. Sarah empowers her clients to create a life worth living and worth experiencing in the face of whatever challenges confront us in the modern world. In other words, she helps clients take the journey from just surviving to truly thriving.

Sarah has lived in the Valley for the last 22 years. In her private life, she enjoys reading, writing, spending quality time with family and friends, and taking her pitbull to the park to play in the sprinklers.
